System requirements

The PolderbitS Sound Recorder enables you to digitize audio recordings to your computer’s hard disk so you can then burn the tracks onto an audio CD. It can also be used for other sound recording and editing tasks.

The program will run on any of the current Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 98, ME, NT4, 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7).

To transfer vinyl records to cd, your computer system must meet the following specifications:

CD burner with burning software

The PolderbitS Sound Recorder provides you with an easy way to digitize recordings of videos, music cassettes or LP's.
In addition, you need a CD-burning device and CD-burning software to burn the digital sound files onto CD.
CD-burning software is usually supplied with the CD-burning device and you can also use the Windows Media Player to make Audio CD's.

Sound card

Your system must be equipped with a sound card.
The sound card must have a Line-in connector to allow you to connect to such devices as an LP or cassette player.

Free disk space

The hard disk(s) of your computer must have sufficient free space to be able to temporarily store the digital sound files you want to put on CD.

For each second of digital sound in sound files, you need approximately 172 Kb of free disk space. That is approximately 10 megabyte for each minute.
If you want to put everything on CD in one session, you must have enough free disk space to accommodate the total playing time of all tracks. The recordings of a full CD (approximately 74 minutes) require approximately 740 megabyte of free disk space!

If you don't have this much free disk space, you can also put tracks on CD one by one. This just takes more time.

Processor

Your system must be equipped with at least a 1 GHz processor and 128 MB memory to process the enormous amounts of data without problems.
