Version 3.0 build 58 of the PolderbitS DVD Creator
is now available for download.
 |
If you already own a license for an older build number, you can upgrade to
version 3.0 build 58 for free.
Your Access key also activates version 3.0 build 58.
If you don't have a license yet, you can evaluate version 3.0 for free for a period of 7 days, even if you have installed an older build before and its trial time has expired by now.
After installation, version 3.0 build 58 of the DVD Creator will automatically start a new 7 day trial period.You can check your currently installed program version and
build number, by selecting Help / About in the menu of the DVD Creator. |

What is new in version 3.0:
- An equalizer and noise filter to enhance the audio quality.
- You can now save movies as an MPEG video file to the hard disk.
- The possibility to clone clips, allowing you to apply different settings to different fragments.
- The order of clips and movies in the lists can now be change by drag&drop.
- Works on 64-bit Windows as well now and the DVD Creator does again see the DVD burning device on 64-bit Windows.
- A new "Check video standard" function to double check the detected video standard.
- Now you can always capture the audio from the sound card, also if the capture device says to capture the audio as well.
- Several stability fixes and fixes for possibly out-of-sync audio&video.
- Now including a watchdog to monitor for stalls and allowing you to save project in such case.
- Import multiple-selected video files.
- You can now add all clips to the movies list and all movies to the menu list at once.

What is new in version 2.0:
- Improved movie/scene editing, including the possibility to fine-tune (cross-)fades between two scenes.
- You can now include stills (slides) in a movie, with a fixed-color or picture-file background, optionally including text.
- Automatic numbering of scenes that have no explicit name.
- Now also available in Dutch.
- Window texts would sometimes be scrambled and unreadable.
- The blue help buttons did not work on every system.
- Now only removes a project from the last known project list if it no longer exists. Failure to open a project due to other reasons, now no longer removes it from the last known projects list.
- Cross-fades on video sources smaller than DVD-picture size, could cause the program to crash.
- Entering a trial extension key no longer crashes the DVD Creator.

Build 42. Release date: January 5, 2009.
The following is fixed or changed in build 42 of version 2.0:
- After Create Image is finished, the actual amount of space used on disc is reported.
- The 7-day trial period would sometimes not start, or could not be extended, on Windows Vista systems where UAC is switched on (as is by default).
- Uninstall in the Start menu now automatically raises access rights to administrator level, on Windows Vista systems where UAC is switched on (as is by default).
- NTSC-Film clips are now always imported with the only allowed size on DVD for this kind of video.
- After removing a DVD disc from the drive, the displayed assumed capacity was not always correct.
- When selecting another DVD burner while creating the image, the picture quality and start-up movie selections are no longer activated.

The following is fixed or changed in build 41 of version 2.0:
- Now always allows to Create Image, even if it is predicted that it won't fit on disc.
- Now also removing any corresponding Play-All entry when a sub-menu is deleted from the DVD menu.
- Fixed possible crash when searching in a clip with audio other than 48000 Hz.
- Fixed capture error code 1715 on certain types of capture cards.
- Fixed possible crash while editing, when deleting scenes until just one scene remained.
- Fixed possible hanging in Create Image with projects that have one or more movies with still scenes.

The following is fixed or new in build 36 of version 1.0:
- Certain type of DVD burning devices would not be detected.
- You now have the ability to Undo and Redo changes in editing clips and scenes.
- More accurate Start and End point setting; No longer being one left/right-click off.
- Certain type of WMV video files would not play back at all, or it would be letter-boxed with the top of the picture cut-off.
- Imported video files other than MPEG, containing NTSC Film rate (24 frames per second) video, are now correctly burned on DVD.

The following is fixed or new in build 34 of version 1.0:
- Canceling the Create Image process could result in an unresponsive DVD Creator.
- Some DVD's were reported as being encrypted while they are not.
- NTSC Film rate (24 frames per second) video sources are now also supported.
- Certain kind of DVD's created on set-top DVD recorders would not play back at all, or would show the video compressed into the left half of the screen.
- A new option to import more than one Chapter at once, or even the entire Program from a DVD instead of just one Chapter.
- Better error reporting on DVD read/import errors.
- Now playing back the last selected audio track on imported DVD clips.

- Fixed a crash on cross-fades between clips having different cropping sizes.
- Fixed a crash during Create Image, in case the last menu item in a DVD menu is a Play-All entry.
- Improved capturing support for more types of capture cards and capture devices.
- Import and playback of MPEG video files could fail on certain systems.
- Now remembers last selected video input connection on capture devices with more than one input.
- Cropping of the first top or bottom lines has been expanded to 4 lines.

- Fixed a possible crash on playing back DVD's with a Dolby audio track, in combination with the InterVideo Dolby decoder.
- Imported clips with video in certain compression formats would not start play back the first time.
- Audio was not audible while capturing from certain types of capture cards.
- Capturing from capture cards that do not support DVD-quality audio, is now also possible.
- Selecting a leader movie while no menu theme was assigned to the DVD main menu yet, is now also possible.

Build 25. Release date: October 21, 2007.
The following is fixed or changed in build 25 of version 1.0:
- Capturing from Cirrus Logic USB capture devices (a.k.a. "Dazzle") did not work.
- Misbehaving ("crashing") 3rd-party modules, like the PowerDVD Dolby audio decoder, are no longer used after they caused a crash.
- Some kind of clips would play back too fast, too slow, or not at all in the second tab.
- Some MPG video files would report an incorrect length.
- Existing DVD's containing multiple camera angles would not play back correctly in the first tab.
- An ampersand (&) in project or menu names for example, did not always show up.
- If an unrecoverable fault occurs ("crash"), you can now send an error report to PolderbitS support and in most cases you are given the option to save the project so you won't loose any work.
